The designers presented the collection “Aquarela de Estilos” (“Watercolor of Styles”).

Brazilian fashion shone in grand style on Sunday, October 26, during the Global Couture U.S., held at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. Designers Maísa Gouveia and Natália Gouveia took to the runway with their collection “Aquarela de Estilos,” earning applause and captivating the audience with a true celebration of color and Brazilian identity.

Inspired by diversity and the freedom to be oneself, the collection featured creations that explored a rich palette of colors and textures. One of the highlights was a dress painted with a wild bird, whose artwork on the fabric was created by visual artist Selvo Afonso, adding even more originality and artistic value to the presentation.

Each piece elegantly and emotionally expressed the designers’ vision of plurality and the beauty of differences—a hallmark that continues to establish the distinctive style of Maísa and Natália Gouveia in the global fashion scene.

The dresses made a striking impact on the runway, embodying the soul of Brazil in every detail. From the fluid fabrics and cuts that exalt femininity to the intricate sleeve finishes, every element conveyed movement, emotion, and authentic sophistication. The reinterpreted godet cut and the dialogue between art and nature gave the collection a unique identity, reaffirming the designers’ creative DNA.

“Aquarela de Estilos is a celebration of individuality and feminine expression. Each color, shape, and texture translates emotions and stories—because dressing is also a way of communicating who we are,” emphasized Maísa and Natália Gouveia after the show.

The presentation was one of the most talked-about moments of the evening, reinforcing the strength of Brazilian design on the international stage and attracting the attention of renowned figures from the worlds of fashion and diplomacy. Among the notable attendees were the Spanish designer and Marchioness of Castelldosrius Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Lady M.S. Jan Du Plain, and José Forteza, editor of Vogue Latin America, as well as representatives from embassies and cultural institutions.

Global Couture U.S. 2025, which brought together designers from more than ten countries, once again proved to be a platform that celebrates fashion, art, and cultural heritage on a global scale. The event, hosted by Peru, also featured musical performances by Carlos Cello and tenor Alan Palacio, along with a visual art installation by Dominican artist Luis Rivas.

With “Aquarela de Estilos,” Maísa and Natália Gouveia reaffirm their role as ambassadors of contemporary Brazilian fashion—a fashion that moves, empowers, and connects cultures through beauty and creativity.
